Welcome to Ronald Richardson Photography. I have always been fascinated by the subject of flying, my first recollections of aircraft being when my father took me to Turnhouse or Edinburgh Airport during the 1960's. Through time there were subsequent visits to airshows at that airfield, Prestwick and RAF Leuchars, with perhaps my fondest memory being one of the last Battle of Britain At Home Days at RAF Acklington in Northumberland, long since closed! Eventually I learned to fly gliders at the Borders Gliding Club, Milfield in Northumberland. However the challenge of photographing aircraft in their element was never far distant. Despite having mainained an interest in nature for many years, I have only recently added such shots to my portfolio. In addition, I take images of steam locomotives and heritage railways. | Taken on Inner Farne, The Farne Islands, Northumberland, on 8th July 2010, these images depict Arctic Terns, a large colony of which breed on grassland on the island. See an updated Wildlife Gallery. |
Images are all taken using Canon DSLR cameras including an EOS 1D Mk II, in addition to an EOS 10 and 20D. Lenses by the same manufacturer are also used. | |
