Flying has always fascinated me. My initial recollections of aircraft were as a schoolboy during the 1960s when my father took me to Turnhouse - or Edinburgh Airport. In subsequent years, outings to airshows at that airfield, Prestwick and RAF Leuchars followed, with perhaps my fondest memory being one of the last Battle of Britain At Home Days at RAF Acklington in Northumberland - long since closed!

I eventually learned to fly with the Borders Gliding Club at Milfield in Northumberland. However, the challenge of capturing aircraft in their natural environment was never far away. Digital Photography now affords the opportunity to exhibit my work using the Internet.

I maintain interest in both Mlitary and Civilian Aviation (particularly the Gliding Movement), in addition to History. Although my local area, the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland cannot be described as a ‘hotbed' of either of these genres, it nevertheless features locations which allow challenging, interesting, and enjoyable photography.

All images are taken using Canon equipment - EOS 1D Mk II, EOS 10 and 20D Digital SLR camera's, in addition to a variety of lenses by the same manufacturer.
